• Email address — used only for login and account recovery. Never displayed publicly.
• Anonymous ID — a randomly generated pseudonym used within the app.
• Journal entries and posts — content you choose to create.
• Mood check-ins — optional mood data you log.
• IP address — used for security and abuse prevention.
• Session data — used to keep you logged in.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, or physical address.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Operate and improve the app
• Display your entries and history to you
• Enable community features
• Send login and account-related emails
• Prevent abuse and enforce guidelines

We do not sell your personal data.

Anonymous by Design

Your public activity is tied only to your anonymous ID. Your email is not visible to other users.

Private journal entries are only visible to you unless you choose to make them public.

AI Features (Layla)

VentPack includes an AI companion (“Layla”).

• Messages may be processed by a third-party AI provider to generate responses
• Conversations are not linked to your public identity
• Layla is not a licensed therapist or medical provider
• Do not rely on Layla for medical or emergency decisions

If you are in crisis, contact a licensed professional or emergency service.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed through secure third-party providers (such as Apple, Google, or Stripe).

• Payment details are handled by those providers
• VentPack does not store your payment information

Advertising

VentPack may display ads to support the free version of the app.

Third-party ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own policies.

Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active.

If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe.

Children’s Privacy

VentPack is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us immediately.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
